The psychological interest is particularly in the use of behavioural techniques, especially aversion therapy, by the State in order to 'rehabilitate prisoners back into society. Strange and brilliant. 153 pp. £2.75 HB £1.00 The Victims Guide to Middle Age Roland Fiddy This is a book of cartoons, ideal as a stocking-filler for that middle-aged person in your life! | A History of Tidworth and Tedworth House | David Croman | This book should be of great local interest for people living near to the Salisbury Plain. It traces the history and origins of the village within the great Tedworth estate and surrounding area. Tedworth House was an influential manor house for hundreds of years and housed an extraordinary range of owners including a Chancellor of the Exchequer, the 'greatest cricketer in England', the builder of Victoria Station and many more. There are murderers, ghost-hunters, the son of a President of the United States and many other characters, all happening at the edge of the Salisbury Plain. Alongside this, from the start of the 20th century, the village was becoming the second largest military garrison in Britain bringing dramatic changes. Described by a reviewer as 'a lively addition to local and military history' (Salisbury Journal). Very well illustrated. |
